    manual block list

Im trying to set up a manual block list in windows 7 so i can manually add ip addresses and web addresses to adware and spammers. If anyone also knows a webpage with a list of these, that would be great as well.

Hi Blitz, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Here's a list of Spammer Blacklists. Maybe useful to you? And then there is Spamhaus, they maintain one of the most comprehensive lists I know.

Some of that information was useful, but I guess I will give the full background. There are certain companies that use Flash for advertising that I want to completely block out. Getting rid of Flash altogether is not an option, because there is a lot of legitimate and creative uses of Flash that make a webpage really look good. There are plenty of tasteful ads that are flash based, but I'm tired of the ones that fill up my screen without a way to get rid of them or offer to make me lose wieght or get a bigger penis. I've tried using a porn blocker, but the ones I've used are ineffective at blocking flash (this is also a concern as I have an up and coming internet nerd that I dont want to have experience that kind of garbage). There is not a lot of helpful information on the internet anymore, as these ads pay for a lot of webpages. I however think its garbage that there is no regulation in this industry, and that they circumvent programs that a parent can use to prevent their kids from viewing. The way I remember it, there was a text file in one of the windows folders, and it would reassign the dns to the localhost so that it would completely ignore everything from a particular ad company. Is this still possible? And if so, how?
