Windows 7: Error 'code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found

win7 64
0x80070035 problems

I have a new laptop and an existing desktop.

I did the upgrade to win 7 (64) (laptop, Lenonvo w500 3.06) the other night and have a peculiar problem. when i browse the laptop with my desktop i can see the machine in the browser, but when i try to see any shares on the laptop i get a 0x80070035 error on the desktop, diagnostics (windows networking diags) say the laptop is not communicating on port 445...

Problem does not exist if i use the wireless NIC on the laptop, only if i use the Intel. browsing and sharing from the laptop to the desktop is ok.

I use the 82567LM on the laptop in autosense at 1G

The problem is unlikely to be firewall related as it occurs with or without the windows (only one) firewall enabled or disabled on both machines (unless the windows firewall is not totally disabling)

I upgraded the 82567 driver to the latest on intel's site, still same problem.

Both machines win 7 64 ultimate.

NETBIOS is enabled on all.

Machines will boot slightly quicker too.

It's the way to run a home network and simple enough to setup. It avoids errors like what you're getting although you should have the ability to run like that if you wish.

To make it even better, places entries for each machine on the network in the hosts file - for each machine. Google it if you don't know what it is. Nothing difficult.
It's basically a local dns cache that your machine follows.

If you still continue to have errors, uninstall all firewalls and antivirus. Do not only disable instead.
OK I am interested in trying absolutely everything. I have installed and uninstalled McAfee at least 4 times. I don't know how to set up separate IP addresses. I have even installed Microsoft Essentials softward to see if that works. Right now I have a Linksys dual band router. Both desktop and laptop are running Windows 7 Ultimate. With the Linksys I am running Network magic and am able to share files. But even though I have a printer (Lexmark X 6570) connected via wifi to my desktop and shared, my laptop will not see it and therefore cannot print to it. It all comes back to this same error code. Error code:0x80070035. So any suggestions that would be helpful. I need the detail proceedure rather than just simply the headlines please. jab

win7 64

I fixed mine by disabling the ipv6 on the NIC driver... mine was strange cuz the wireless NIC had no problem, but the hardwire NIC had the problem.

FWIW both are intel NICs....

go to the screen that shows the protocols bound to your NIC and uncheck the IPV6 box

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Hey Guys,

Quick question - I know this thread is old, but it's really hurting me not to have this solved. I've read just about every tech support thread I can find.

I've enabled NetBIOS, disabled all my firewalls, used the same name and username for everything and still it won't work.

I tried solution #3 on this site:

0x80070035 Error - Solutions for Vista & Windows 7

It works, but I'm on a dynamic IP and the IP address keeps changing. So I can connect via IP but not computer name.

Any suggestions?

windows 7 home premium 64 bit
corrected same problem

My problem was definitely a firewall problem. Vista laptop has Macafee and the network was set to Public instead of Home.

I changed the setting to Home and all was good. I did this by going into Firewall settings area, clicking on the IP range (dynamic for my router), clicking on EDIT and then setting it to a "Home" network. Everything opened up like a charm immediately afterward.

Disabling ipv6 worked for me. Would like to have a better solution.

Remote drive is located in Safe Mode, receives "no path" in full mode

My new laptop W7 Ultimate sees the shared remote drive in safe mode, gets "The network parh was not found" in full user modes. I have gone over all of the suggestions in the above posts and found no problem. We even painstakingly did selective startups with each of optional services diabled.

Any clues from anyone?
