    First Time Network Setup

I know nothing about a network, other than the concept and terms, so I really need some guidance getting this off the ground. I have two computers connected via a router, but at the moment, neither computer sees anything on the other computer. I want each of them to have as much access to each other as possible, how do I accomplish this...starting at step 1.

    Hi and welcome

First need you to tell us about your network setup. Wired, or wifi? what router, what kinds of computers (XP, vista, win 7). what do you want to share? the whole computer or just parts of it?

things like that and we can get you going pretty easily.

Let us know if you need help

Btw If someone doesnt get back to you within a day feel free to PM me. I am back and forth between her and win 7 and dont want you to fall beteen the cracks

I'm attempting to wade through those links. It appears that both computers see each other....at least 2 computers appear when the network map is expanded, but neither computer sees the other's files. I get the impression that all that they are supposed to see are the selected personal folders, not each other's partitions, is this true?

The network is through a ZyXel X550 router connected via ethernet cables. The primary OS is W7 x64 Pro RTM 7600 and the secondary is W7 X32 Ultimate RC 7100. I want to share the WHOLE computer, in both directions, if possible.

I know that I should crack the books more, but when I do I usually get more confused than I am, so I'm still on hold, hoping for some help.
