    Strange case of video hanging

I only have a problem with video playback from ONE website, where the video constantly hangs, basically making it unwatchable. I have tried my other laptops with the same LAN connection, and they all work great. I use a wired LAN, and even trying with WIFI, the problem still exists. I recently upgraded all my drivers to the newest ones.

    Two possible items to consider:
    1) Website is a non-mainstream news site--but if it was throttled, then my other PC's would also fail--which is not the case.

2)My problem PC is running Win7, while the others are 8 or 10. Of course, I rather stay with 7 if possible as I still like it, and do not want to lose all my apps, etc.

Don't need to view your attachment. Your issue is more than likely layer 7 (Application) side. Meaning, it's probably something in the browser. Not layer 3 (network) side as you think.

Try this. Download and install (extract) Portable Firefox. It's stand along requiring no install. Now go to that news website. Does it work? If so, what is the main browser you use now so this issue can be fixed. Also, care to share the news website link so I can see what code they are rolling?

Whoo, it works with Portable Firefox!!

I use CC Cleaner, have tried Chrome and Edge--all with the same hang issue.
What can be done to enable on my CC (which is really chromium)? All have Adblocker and also antivirus
    Site is infowars.

    Thanks

I'm assuming right now it's your Ad blocker or any Ad/script blocking functionality in the core of the browser its self.

Does his video website load at all? https://banned.video/

It's your browser for sure since portable Firefox works. You may have another add-on interfering even beyond an Ad Blocker. Even an overzealous bull crap anti-virus software could helicopter parent your connection.

I don't understand that statement. Ccleaner is Crap Cleaner. Is that what you're referring to or just the Chrome browser? Ccleaner is not a web browser. Also, Ccleaner can be snake oil as it pertains to registry cleaning. I would not mess with the registry part of that program. Check out System Ninja...

Also, Chromium is a code base used for the Chrome browser (stupid name). Edge, Opera and a lot of other web browsers or programs use the Chromium code base.

Portable Firefox still works, so it's good news, and perhaps I will just stick with that when needed.

CC Cleaner also makes a browser (new) and I like it, and sorry to disagree, but their registry cleaner never gave me any trouble over many years. The portable Firefox is my only browser that does not have any adblocking extensions--but I did try disabling them on my other browsers, and hanging still occurred. I do have an anti-virus, but that would also cause problems with the portable--so that can be eliminated.

Interesting, but banned.video works on my CC browser without hanging, but not on his infowars site.
    Thanks for the help.
