Win7-Pro and Android Phone Interconnection Via USB

I want to update the Android 10 OS on my Moto G Power 2021 cell phone to Android 11 via a USB wired interconnection. I am advised this is doable.

My Win7-Pro PC recognizes the Moto G via the USB connection but I don't know how to get the file transfer to work. Can anyone give me some step-by-step guidance on the proper procedure or point me toward a source that can instruct me?

Thanks, in advance, for any and all advice, guidance, or what have you. At 85, I'm not very swift any more - if I ever was - at learning new processes.

Firstly, I don't think you can update in that fashion unless you know how to use Android Developer Bridge (ADB)...

I've never had to manually update my firmware in the phone, it just "updated". In spite of that, I'm almost certain that buried in the settings somewhere is an option to update the phone if it can.

But, if you want to access the phone its self via USB connection you need to look at your phone when you plug it into the computer and select an option on the phone to use a certain USB mode for file transfer.

The "Settings App" is when you swipe down from the top and select the gear (cog) icon.

I'd have to look at my phone and see.... NOPE!
