Adding a shared printer from Winserver2019 to Win7 PC

    Hi,

If there is anyone who has founded a solution to this issue, please suggest a solution to try.

    Issue and background:
We have several Win7 PC:s still on our organization and they work fine with WinServer2003 environment.
But we also have WinServer2019 devices in use.

Problem is that we have not founded a way to add a shared printers, that is installed on WinServer2019, to win7 PC.
I´m not opening the reasons why we need to this that way more than it is related to new ERP system deployment we have.
I have managed to add this by using TCP/IP (IP-address) or to use WDS-port, but that is not the way we want to use this.

    So far I have tried:
    • To change create new regedit item (RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled) to client PC and Host (Winserver2109). Tried with both values on (1) and off (0)
      • And restarted print spooler
      • This worked other way round on Win10 and WinServer2003, but not with Win7 and WinServer2019

    • Modified GPO for print and point restrictions
    • Pushed a PS command on server which I founded but no success.

    All help is welcome here.

Welcome to the forum. You dont say what errors you get but when you install a network printer it passes drivers to the pc so you need to have drivers for 7 it can also be down to what protocals your using

I´ll get 0x000001b and therefore tried those fixes listed above.

And also the printer is added to WInServer2019 and I can install it to Win10 machine without any issues.
