Normally, Clean Boot is used if your computer has trouble running or launching programs.

But in this case, we'll use Clean Boot to hopefully find the cause for why the TV drivers will not uninstall during Normal Boot.

Once you're in Clean Boot mode, check to see if you can remove the TV drivers.

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Wait to do this next step until after you've completed the Clean Boot process and have returned to Normal Boot.

    Run, System File Checker Tool.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker | Tutorials (sevenforums.com)

If sfc finds issues hold off on the next step.

If no sfc issues are found, go ahead and try to install the LG Smart Share software.

Make sure you've disabled any protection software before completing the next step.

If you can't install 'LG Smart Share App' in Normal Mode, try installing in 'Safe Mode with Networking'.

Important! Smart Share is only compatible with LG WebOS using version 2.0 or older. If your TV is using between webOS3.0 to webOS23, please see our LG TV - How to Screen Share on Your TV article for further assistance.

Just to confirm you're taking these steps to install the LG program in safe mode with network.

How do I download and install a program in Safe Mode Windows 7.

    Windows Vista/7

    • Click Start.
    • In the search box at the bottom, type "msconfig" without the quotation marks and press Enter.
    • This will open the System Configuration.
    • Click on the Boot tab on top.
    • Put a check mark beside "Safe boot" and click on "Network". Click OK and restart the computer when prompted.

Once the installation is complete, click on Start, type "msconfig" into the search box again and press Enter. Select "Normal Startup" on the General tab and click OK. Restart the computer when prompted. This should return you to "normal" Windows operation.
