How to enable Remote Console from Windows 7 Repair Disk

UltraAV disabled my keyboard and mouse so I would like to uninstall it. I'm hoping that I can do so using the Remote Console. How do I enable Remote Console from the Windows 7 Repair Disk environment? I'm guessing I will have to make some changes to the registry. Thanks!

You don't have a restore point? Should be able to do that from the boot disk.

Alas, I have no restore points. I'm surprised at that. I thought one was created each time a new update from Microsoft was installed.

from booted media see if you have the hive backups in

    windows\system32\config\regback

if they are not zero size, you can use them to replace the hives in

    windows\system32\config

first rename the existing hives in windows\system32\config something like

    default.bok
    software.bok
    system.bok

then copy in the hives from windows\system32\config\regback

I copied the hives from regback and booted Windows 7 but it didn't fix the problem. Thanks

it will only work if the hive backups were made before the problem.
