    Problems with Internet browser

Right now I'm using IE8b2 and although this is very buggy with rendering glitches and crashes I don't think it's the browser itself.

The problem I'm having is when opening office (powerpoint, word, excel) documents or pdf files from the browser. When I open them the tab is frozen and I can't do anything in the tab, and a blank loading bar appears that doesn't show progress. I assume I'm downloading the file, but this seems like a non-user-friendly way to load those files. This also happens with embedded pdf.

The other problem I'm having has more to do with the operating system. I can't find where my "favorites" in IE are stored. In Windows Vista there was a favorites folder. Now in Windows 7 there is a "Favorites" category, but IE favorites are not located there.

    Hello Firestrider,

I get this PDF issue sometimes as well. I find that refreshing the opened tab helps it display properly afterwards usually.

Favorites are stored at the same C:\Users\(user name)\Favorites location as in Vista. It's just not in the Start menu user (personal) folder by default as in Vista though. You can customize the Start menu to have the Favorites button by checking the Favorites menu box option to make accessing this easier for you.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
