Omg. I have a very simular problem. My Xbox works great with my old windows xp laptop, but will not work at all with my brand new windows seven Laptop.

I spend about 2 hours with the Xbox live people triing to get it to work. No one there could fix it. Their answer was " it's a Windows Seven problem.

I'm sorry but what a F***** up system. It does no even work with there own product.

Well I am back but thinsg SEEM to be working after a combined 5 hours (On hold and working with Canadians) and nothing really has changed. I did a fresh install of Win7 and yes things seem to be running faster but the XBOX360 still likes to "Time Out" like when I was playign music for a while and then it just cuts out, sound first (Movies do the same) Then I just reset the XBOX360 and watched an entire movie and well it worked fine once again, for how long idk.

Basically nothing has changed, not a god damn thing but I have a FEELING things will work faster becasue my comuter is working faster now.

Things I KNOW effect the 360 finicky connection....

    1. How busy your computer is, multitasking kills it and then the 360 just gives up
    2. Don't let yoru computer sleep, make sure it just dims don't let it sleep or sometimes the screensaver does it too.
    3. The XBOX is just a finicky bitch, it just is, reset, reformat the network settings.
    4. Make sure everything is hard wired.
Other then that I don't know what else to do other then run a direct line from the computer to the 360 and by-pass the router.

    ************UPDATE*************

I kept getting calls back from XBOX Customer Support, even stranger they were from this country and Caucasian. Anyway they called me today to make sure everything is working and sure enough it is, very fast too I might add. Windows Media Center is still kinda slow but plays ALL my videos no matter what were simply going to "My Videos" only allows certain ones..

I am happy though, everything is working now.
