Those are available frequency ranges. Try setting a different channel while using 2.4 then.

US = 1 -11 available
Europe = 1 - 13 available

(Depends on firmware)

One other thing to check - if this is an older router - check if there is a firmware update available from D-Link - there were changes to the Network stack between XP and Vista and minor changes between Vista and win7 - an upgrade to the latest firmware may correct the drop outs

Doesn't mean there isn't a firmware update.

One thing that did cause time-out problems on some routers with Vista was the “Receive Window Auto-Tuning”

Switching this off cured the issues in many cases - This tuning is still used in win7

Commands need to be run in an elevated command prompt

Switch off
Code:
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
Switch On
Code:
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
Display Settings
Code:
netsh interface tcp show global

LAN network for server/client only, USB hotspot for server internet.
A friend is moving his business, and the new business park that he's setting up shop in does not have anyway to get any wired internet to his building, excluding a T1 line, which he can't justify the cost of. One windows 7 machine acts as the server, primarily for Quickbooks database, and there...
