Stumped on Folder/File Access from an XP Machine

I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed on laptop #1. From laptop #2 that runs with XP Home I can map a network drive location to laptop #1 and access those laptop #1 folders and files just fine. No problem. And access works fine the other way.

Here's the issue. A third laptop, laptop #3, runs XP Pro. I can map to a location on laptop #1 just fine, but whenever I then try to access one of the folders there it will say the folder location "is not accessable". "Access is denied". I can access laptop #3 from laptop #1, if that means anything. I seem to have something set up differently between 1 and 3 versus 1 and 2, but for the life of me I don't know what. Please help.

    Hi Gordon and welcome

I have a couple of questions

Are you using Homegroup for networking?

What anti virus and firewalls are being used ?

How are you sharing the folders On both the win 7 and XP machines?

    thanks

Hi Ken, thanks for replying. Here are some answers:

Are you using Homegroup for networking?

Homegroup is used on the WIN 7 machine. I map to it from the XP machines using Networking on those machines, of course.

What anti virus and firewalls are being used ?

Microsoft Security Essential and Windows Firewall

How are you sharing the folders On both the win 7 and XP machines?

On the WIN 7 machine I click "share with" in the particular folder's window and go from there. For example, my WIN 7 "My Documents" folder is set to share with specific people, those being Owner (me) and Homegroup. So with that being the case the XP Home machine can access just fine, but the XP Pro machine cannot. I know XP does not use Homegroups, but whatever the case one XP unit accesses fine, the other does not. Why is that? Do I need to do this another way? I need to mention there is a fourth machine, another WIN7 machine, and it is tied in using Homegroups and it works fine for access.
