I recently purchased a Samsung HT-BD8200. It supports PC Streaming as do some other Samsung Blu-Ray players. I can't get it to see my computer? Now it does say it only supports Infrastructure mose, but I can't see that setting in Windows 7, as it was in XP. Anybody have any ideas?
Did you follow the instructions found on pages 77 and 78 of your manual? Did you go to the Samsung support site for your player and read about the possible solutions for sharing problems? Do you have sharing enabled on your Windows 7 computer? Have you checked for updated firmware for your player?
Yes to all. I can get it to show the computer now but it doesn't find any folders or files. I had to delete my homegroup to get it to see the computer. I've shared the folders just fine. The other weird thing...I noticed that when it finds this computer my wireless connection on my computer goes missing and is no longer connected? Maybe this is why the Samsung doesn't find the files?
How are you connecting the player to your network? If you are using wireless, try connecting via ethernet. It's very odd that your player seems to be knocking your Windows 7 computer off the network.
Player is connecting through ethernet cable via powerline adaptor. Computer is on wireless as stated before.??????????????????????????????????
Do you have any other computers in your home network, or is it just the one Windows 7 computer?
Also - infrastructure mode isn't something you set in Windows, it's a way that wireless devices connect to wired devices. If you have a wireless router, or a wireless access point, then you are operating in infrastructure mode.
Just the one PC running Windows 7 yes. In XP I could choose Infrastructure or Ad-Hoc mode(s) in the wireless network settings......
