Issue with Homegroup and WPA2 security
Hi all have an issue with WPA2 security.
I have always run my wireless network using WEP security and never had any issue at all.
I recently changed the profile to WPA2 Personal as I was told this would improve network security. Updated the settings on all network items (PS3, Wii, 2 x XP laptops, a linux netbook and my sons PC running W7), and all worked fine.
All able to connect to the internet, nero media server working on the PS3 and homegroup working fine on the 2 window 7 pc's.
I then reboot my PC (The main PC, wired to router) and no computers detected in the homegroup, the PS3 cant see any media servers, either windows or nero!!
So I switch off wireless security, and all is good again.
Switch back to WPA2 and everything works.
Reboot my pc and the whole lot goes again!!
All PCs and PS3 etc have full internet access whatever the security setting and filesharing between the 2 XP laptops is unaffected.
It seems to be a conflict between Homegroup and wpa2 security.
Any ideas??
My router is a Linksys wag160n
