    upgrade/file sharing

I just upgraded the wifes laptop to windows 7. Will my network file sharing still be intact and able to view and share file and folders as it was doing before the upgrade.

    Hi Bassfisher,
Make sure you have the win7 install on the same workgroup as the other computers.
I have had cases when it worked right away, others when you have to play with it a little. The main problem in my case was the firewall or the share setup. If you come into a problem, disable the firewall and try again.

Ok, how do I do that. In vista I had the network tab after clicking the start orb. In 7 that tab is gone, at least in this upgrade. Where do I find the tab that will let me find my other computers on my network?

I found how to view computers on the network from with in the controll panel. Is there an easyer way to do this. At least in vista, for me, the network tab was much easier access the other networked pc's.

Well after a few more clicks and some simple brain wave inputs (thinking about it for a few seconds), I found the answer in the properties of the taskbar and scrolling down and ticking the box that shows the network tab. Now just one click away from network access and the great news is all pc's are there and accessable. Thanks for your help.
