Hi MarkH,
This is very useful. Thanks a lot. The people from Kaspersky never got back to me.
Thanks again

FINALLY! I have been searching for 2 days the problem of my wireless adapter issue and all along it was the stupid K-pesty. After the uninstalled - my life is back to normal. I knew I hated that anti-everything-shut off-not let anything work - "virus" protector. I guess they can state that they are 100% guaranteed NO VIRUS ... because they turn off all your internet connections...
ugh!
Thanks MarkH you are a genius!
It is Kaspersky's nework filter which causes the problem. You don't have to remove the antivirus. SImply go to 'Network Connections', right click on 'network wireless connection', 'properties' and uncheck Kaspersky Anti-virus NDIS filter . Then restart the computer. Once you connect you computer wirelessly to a network go back and check on the filter. It is that simple. It took me 3 days installing / uninstalling wireless drivers until saw this forum. Thanks a lot guys.
All the best.
This also occurs with other Internet Security applications. I just saw the same problem with a client that decided to install Trend Micro Internet Security. It attaches a service to the wireless adapter. Once I unchecked it, the icon for the wireless was no longer grey and I was able to enable the interface.
I just worked on a Windows 7 computer with the very same problem. Customer had purchased a Netgear N 600 wireless USB adapter. Everything installed although it took a long time. The wireless adapter was always disabled in the network connections And the enabling it didn't do anything. I watched it as I uninstalled kaspersky Anti Virus and sometime during the uninstall boom it was enabled. My problem was solved thank you everyone for your help!
Just an FYI, my wireless connection would not enable until I uninstalled Zone Alarm anti-virus AND restarted my computer. Afterward there wasn't a problem with my wireless connection. I'm now using Microsoft Security Essentials without problem.
