    Really?
I'm not sure if there's 2 adapter. As far as I know that the only network adapter is from her motherboard and no more.

Modem (Netgear) is working as I used it before passing it to her.
Cable is not faulty as she took the office cable and test it at home.

Have no idea on 3 4 and 5.

Perhaps one adapter is a wireless connection, one is a local connection.

After you gave her the netgear, was it reconfigured with her details? i.e. It would have your login, password etc. You need to use hers for it to work. Given that you get very strange Ipconfig results, it's important to 100% verify this and to ensure that it works and is configured for her, i.e. plug another computer in ans see if it works. Please do this.

You also need to double that everything is turrned on and pluged-in adn then do the ipconfig /all again.

When you have done these things, then we can tick off number one and move to number two on our list.

    1. Proove without doubt that the modem is configured correctly
    2. Proove that the cable is not faulty
    3. Ensure the network drivers on the LAN cable are ok
    4. Ensure the LAN adapter itself is not faulty
    5. Check faults in the Operating System

Before passing to her, I used the modem router to connect to my office PC and changed the login/password.

I also tested that the /ipconfig all works and ethernet can detect my modem router in office PC.

It is very weird that it suddenly does not work at all. She did plug in and out the cables.
That's all I can do to help her already. other than that, nothing that i can help already.

    Edit:
No use after getting the network card. Still fail. Look like there's corrupted issue going on. The only choice might be just reformatting of computer.

Modem router connect to laptop tested : OK

I ask her to do a reformatting instead. Guess it is the only choice and better as well. no harm trying as to fix the adapter. Hoping everything goes ok for her.

Ok, this may the best solution as it's sometimes difficult to troubleshoot connectivity issues via blog.

If problem persists after the rebuild, I'm happy to take it up again. Just shoot me message, as I may miss the general log while I'm still on holidays.

Good luck and well wishes for the new year.
