Cisco VPN Client

Does anyone have experience with the Cisco VPN Client running under Windows 7 Home Premium?

I'm currently running Windows XP with no problem. A new notebook is on the way with 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium installed. The only version of the Cisco VPN Client available to me and supported by the VPN host is a 32 bit version.

Hopefully, the Windows 7 Home Premium compatibility setting will work fine ... but I'm trying to anticipate problems and avoid downtime during the program transfer.

The 32 bit version is not going to work on a 64-bit system. My last job used the Cisco client and that was the deal there. My new job uses a Checkpoint VPN and it's the same problem there.

I'm using the Cisco AnyConnect client on Ultimate 64-bit for work. I'm still testing it but haven't had any problems yet.

Yeah, the Cisco AnyConnect client with SSL certs will work. But for those who don't have the necessary equipment and licensing to use AnyConnect are often stuck with the 32-bit client which doesn't work on 64-bit systems.

This is tightly controlled VPN access and right now, the 32 bit Cisco client is the only approved option. I'll keep digging.

Any other comments / experience would be welcome.
