Another easy way to tell if it's a router problem is just to plug directly into the modem and see if the connection improves or not.

Someone else with your same board is having the same problems. I'm sure this is a driver problem but I can't seem to find those drivers that have been updated to work with Windows 7. Keep checking with the Abit site and see if something shows up there.

Windows XP & Windows 7

I originally installed 64 bit version and experienced network problems.
I then installed 32 bit version and it ran fairly well except that Malwarebytes Antimalware software that slowed the bandwidth by 20-30%.
Once I removed that, I'm achieving the speed posted by ISP.

The other posts mentioning driver issues with certain network cards is true.
Try to get drivers directly from manufacturers and not MS.

I'm sure were looking at a significant MS SP comong soon.

SHould I have to re-install network drivers to get inte

I posted earlier with my similar problem - In summary my hardware works reliably under Vista and W7 - 32 Bit. I am using W7 64Bit

However even though I have used both the Biostar (Tpower I45) supplied Realtek driver - Version 522 or the latest from the Realtek site - 1127 I am still unable to get a continuous service or any reliability.

I removed my network cable and replugged it.... No response. No lights.. The I moved to another port on the Router (Belkin Pre N - F5D8630-4)- and it jumped into life... However the network connection was identified but not the Internet.. So I could see the gateway but not the internet.

I have checked that I have the latest firmware for the router and the latest drivers for the Realtek PCIe GBE Family card. Where should I go from here.???

The onboard network chip is Realtek RTL 8111C

Also if I disable and then enable the NIC it works again... Must be some sort of handshake problem!!

Did you try the earlier suggestion of bypassing router and plugging the PC directly to service?

You could try a new NIC card and/or cable.

win 7

Hi all, Sorry not been available for a while. I have given up trying to sort the problem and I’m going to get a new NIC! It’s just draining way too much of my time and winding me up now!!! I'll end up breaking something in anger soon I'm going to look at getting a windows 7 approved one next pay day and hopefully i can get connected. I did try bypassing the router and it made no difference. Borrowed one from a friend, made no difference!! I think it’s either a driver or security problem. I'll post back when i get the new NIC and HOPEFULLY its working!!!!
Thanks to everyone for your replies and help, it’s much appreciated
