    AEM,
    I saw this before..

I was helping someone in Australia and by default his DHCP / LAN / GATEWAY whatever the hell you want to look at it as was set to : 10.1.1.1

It was the same in other countries when i messed with routers. I only encountered 192.168 here in america or if i manually put it in myself.

I went step by step in this dudes router and everything and checked everything...

Sometimes it all comes down to the router... some well i shouldn't say some majority of cheap routers are not par to the new windows 7 systems.

I just tried to fix that one dudes system in Russia and it turned out to be his router... and it fixed everything.

I am expecting a home network to also have 192.168.

Seriously, there has to be something like what might happen in dec 2012, for someone to not able to connect two machines together, whether through wireless home network or through cables. If it's a router issue, then this can be fixed cos it's at your home and you are the master. If it's something offered by ISP, then only your ISP can fix.

The tut in my sig (the one in red), is abc stuff...if you are not using wires, the principle is still the same.

Here we just want to get to machines to talk to one another, steps 1-6.

I have an easy way setting up my computer

I have my computer set up exactly how he wants....

except i dont have to run from room to room

I use pcAnywhere to connect the comptuers together so i don't have to leave the one room and i can change settings to any computer on the network... clever huh

I have an easier way than pcAnywhere, it's called mstsc. Get all the machines on the wireless network and use mstsc.

I disagree... i like buying over priced software from symantec and brag about it and have others make me look like an idiot by showing free software that came with windows in the first place.

I like pcanywhere.. so easy to setup and i have used it for years. its much more secured and easy... its got icons and pretty colors.

There is no setup with mstsc. How can anything be more easy than no setup

Security? stay away from bittorents or porn. And i have no comments about the pretty colors.

Your asking a computer nerd to to stay away from torrents.. and your asking a guy to stay away from Porn....

Aren't you a computer nerd / guy yourself?

Can you stay away from it *lol*

but with remote desktop... you dont get the pretty colors

Ok, if you guys are to help, please don't talk about bittorrent and porn and stuff

Anyway, I pinged 10.0.0.2 from another machine (10.0.0.4), and it failed. Which means there is no chance to access it from elsewhere.
