Was this a full format and install or something else?
Make sure you have network discovery turned on in network and sharing center
it doesn't work either way (sorry for being unclear :))
when i try to connect trough the router, i get the cable unplugged error and i cannot connect to other computers in the netwerk or internet
when i try to skip the router, so connect directly to the modem i get an unidentified network error, so i cannot connect to the internet.
also the router doesnt recognise my computer when looking at multi dmz, it says unkown (192.168.0.2) wich would be my computer
it looks like it is not recognizing the cable i put in, because nothing happens when i put the cable in it, not on the router and not on the computer (when trying to connect trough the router),
my dads computer, with windows xp trough the same router as the windows 7 computer that i try to connect.
before i installed windows 7 on my computer, it had xp on it. the Internet worked on xp, now, with windows 7 Internet (and LAN) don't work (there are 4 computers connecting to the router, one with windows 7, three with windows xp. the ones with xp work)
in the adapter properties tell us what you have there and what's checked such as TCP/IP versions 4 client for microsoft networks etc.
Motherboard info would be helpful also, and again is this a PCI card or internal adapter
