I'm just trying to make this easier on you and I do realize that purchasing new hardware is a pain but in this case it's the easiest way to solve the problem. I can check the comptablity list for your router but if it doesn't have a specific firmware update just for Windows 7 it's unlikely to work properly for you.
the other computers work when plugged into that port
chev, i'll be glad if i get it working on XP again (wich is my current OS (i changed back)), will purchase a new router later on, when we also change computers
i used to have XP it worked, then i went to windows 7 it stopped working, now i reinstalled xp again and it didn't work
Changed Op systems instead of just replacing the router? Well I tried anyway LOL, good luck getting XP to work again. :)
hehe, changing OS is easier then replacing the router during hollidays :)
Compatibility list are not gospel that just means that those items have been tested and do work if an item has not been tested to make it on the list that does not mean it won't work.
how long did you hold in the reset button on the router sometime it takes a good 20 seconds or so not just depressing and releasing the button
about 30 seconds, wich should be enaugh (i also tried a hard reset, wich you normally do after a firmware update)
you said you were using DMZ is that now off?
In case you were wondering, here is what happens when people follow my lead on replacing old incompatible hardware. It's been one after the other for months like this guys.
