questions about my network

    yes.. im using the 2 PC for online gaming..


    in my settings i only change its WAN inteface to connect the internet.. and other settings are default..
    WAN Access Type: Static IP
    and the IP address, Default Gateway, DNS.. i get those when the time that i dont have a router and using 1 PC in internet

    can i post screen shoot of some of the settings of my router?

    I was asking, how did you come to the error in the image in the first post?

    How did you tried to connect to the other machine?

    i go network..
    and i see the name of my computer and the name of my laptop..
    when i click the name of my computer, i see the folders that i shared.

    but when i click the name of my laptop. the error appears

    i have the same problem. when i also try this to my laptop

    Have you made any shares on the laptop to be shared out. Check the permissions on the share.

    now i try different settings.. but still this problem happens..
    do u think it is in my OS? coz in my computer i use Windows 7 Home Premium Lite x86

    I wouldnt think so but then again i don't have the Os that you do.

    The principle of file sharing whether through cable or over a network is the same. If you can ping it, than you should be able to file share, at a minimum via mapping to shares from one machine to another. Here, just need to create the shares and allow appropriate permission.

    I would think the error u get when u click on the pc in Network, is cos the shares are not correctly created, no shares, or you haven't enabled file sharing/remote access on that machine.

    Ok I believe I figured it out from searching the internet. Some one said the "TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper" was not started so I went under computer management and service and it was there and not started I started it and I can now get on the other computers. I post this in my own thread and it works now.
