Intermittent loss of internet

    I might add when this did happen while I was using Vista it did give me a error of "local access only" But Like I said before I don't get anything telling me somethings wrong now.

    why are you so sure that there is no issue with the modem also who is your ISP

    Modem Lights


    what are the status of the lights on the modem when this happens?

    Verizon Dsl
    I've had them test the lines,through their systems and they came out to my home to check them they said everything was fine.Dell ran some test thru My computer they all said it was Vista....Could be just telling me that because they are clueless lol So I'm not sure I guess.

    Usually if a something stops working, it have something in the event logs. Have u made any changes eg installed anything? You may have a virus. Do a scan.

    The lights stay solid green working normally ..I've tried 3 different 6100 modems one old and 2 new.

    6100 series modem


    form what i am reading the 6100 series modems do not like Vista or 7 but work fine with XP

    I check after each time it happens I never get any error or warning in the log.My computer is clean I run daily scans with avast and superantispyware.I haven't installed anything different...

    Hm well I did use a 6100 on my old pc that was running Xp never had a issue..Like this.Funny Verizion said the modem was compatible with Vista and 7.Looks like I might have to dish out more $ for yet another modem joy

    Ok, next thing is to reinstall firefox and test it, you won't be able to remove IE, so try Ff. If still no good do a system point restore.
