I had this issue whilst connecting directly to my router, the machine wasn't able to obtain any IP settings from ISP's DHCP. Turns out i had issue with the router's MAC cloning setting. Not sure if this is the same issue, can you provide ipconfig /all details.

Don't worry man... Greek Looks Greek to the Greeks....

yeah i can already tell that your card is not pulling a proper IP address.

Help us out here.

We need model and make numbers of:
Your Router
Your Desktop
Your Laptop

Also, what version security you are using.

how do you have your router set up. did you just pull it out of the box plugged wires in it like the big sheet told you to do and left it alone?

Somehow I don't think it's the problem with the router as I never have problem when my laptop is still on Windows Vista. Furthermore, there is no way I can do anything with the school network, given the fact that I face the same issue while at home and at school.

Why doesn't it pull the proper IP address?

The reason why its not pulling a proper IP is becuase your network is not configured correctly. I know that it sounds like a redundent answer but its the truth.

The reason why i need your router is because some routers are not compatible with windows 7. I just need to make sure. thats all.

If i have your computer model. I actually know what is being loaded with windows because it tells me when i pull up the computer on the internet.

If i have your security system I can tell you how to configure it. I may be good at computers but i don have a artistic memory of remembering screen shots of different antivirus and firewall programs.

Hmm, it's Fujitsu Lifebook S Series S6421.

Okay I realized something new, that the Norman Security Suite (the antivirus softwar) has some compatibility problem with Windows 7. And somehow I can't seem to run it because it doesn't have network connection.

This shows me that you do not have tcp/ip4 network connectivity. Before you can attempt to connect to your wireless network, which is broadcasted by your router, you need to make sure your wireless adapter is working property. Go to your Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adapter, in device manager. Under Properties, is tcp/ip4 ticked?

Can you screen shot this?

I can screenshot but I don't know how to post the picture here. Anyway, it's under the Wireless Network Connection Properties where I find the TCP/IPv6 and TCP/IPv4, both are ticked. Everything in that page are also ticked.

My Router is Buffalo Airstation, Model: WHR-G54S.
The modem is Motorola SURFboard SB5101.
