Of course the more obvious and much easier solution is to just purchase the wireless dongle for the X-box. I guess that would be too easy though LOL.
That would be too easy :P and hey this could be a learning experience so I'm up for a challenge. Now where did that OP run off to?

I'd like to see an experiment between the ICS and a bridged connection to the Xbox to see if there is any difference at all. My son moved out with the Xbox so I don't have one here to experiment with.

My latest experiment was to install Win 7 on my old Compaq machine. I'm typing this from my old Compaq socket 423 P4 1.7 GHz with 756GB memory. Win 7 Ultimate runs like a dream on this thing. I found an old Nvidia 4600 GS with HD on E=bay so now I can even run aero on this archaic machine.

Needless to say the Homegroup works perfectly for me just like with all my other machines. I can't figure out why everyone has so many problems with Homegroup.

Well i don't have the money to be able to just chuck £50 towards a wireless card for the xbox 360 if i did then i would have just done that.

UNfortunately i am having no luck what-so-ever with sharing the connection so i think it is time to give up

Sorry to hear that :/ at least you were able to get your ethernet adapter recognized!

As a last resort, if you have the time and patience, you can always try a system restore. And if SP1 does what it's supposed to do, you might have more success a few months down the road.

Problem Solved Ill tell you how I did it. The earlier posts ive read seem different and If this is a post that applies to another im sorry

Control Panel > View Network Status and tasks > Change adapter settings.

I then right-clicked on my Wireless network/Connection and went to properties.
Then I went to the sharing tab and Checked the first box and a drop down menu appeared and allowed me to share my connection with my LAN connection. Did that Restarted my xbox and ran tests and it worked fine.

Also before you do this you should Restore your xbox's network settings back to factory.
    To do this go to:
System settings > Networs Settings > Configure network > Additional settings
And it should be the last selection.

    Hope I helped

    Hi KcGut,

Thanks for your input! The issue liamdawe had was not having a sharing tab at all, making your solution impossible to achieve But I'm glad you were able to get it working for your system... enjoy!
