    Teredo tunneling And network sharing?

Does an XP and Win 7 machine need Teredo tunneling protocol IPv6 connectivity turned on to have a functioning home network (Teredo problem is on the win7 box)? My Teredo device has not been working so I disabled it and now I'm attempting to setup a home network between the two computers and I'm having no luck.

Homegroup is only supported on W7 and does indeed use IPV6.

If you have a mixed environment such as W7 with XP or Vista you need to use workgroups.

There's several tutorials on how to get this going. Here is just one:

From the surface of things, i do not think so. Ipv6 is for use with Homegroup, if you got XP and W7 in the mix, then forget Homegroup, therefore ipv6. How are you wanting to network the two?

In anycase the key thing is getting them talking to one another, if they both can ping one another, no matter how they are connected to the network, you're set.

My tut in my sig is the old fashion cable method, however ALL wireless is the same. As i said the key thing is getting them to ping one another.

Have you read the pdf in the link supplied by RedBirdDad?

Step 4 looks like what you needed.
