Yeap, XP is on WiFi, and 7 is hard wired to the router. Since then have deleted Bridge.

Ok

ok just trying to make sure to follow info correctly

if you are just going to put 7 on the other machine i would just do it now that way it will make the networking much easier plus you will only have to do it once the BitDefender and Norton are not so great that i would let that stop me from installing the best OS to come down the pike

Now that you have deleted the bridging connection, can W7 ping XP (doesn't matter if it's a LAN pining a wireless), if both machines are on the same vlan (should be if you config them correctly) then they should be able to be pinged.

Yeah, I know the never the less the Xp machine has Norton on it, and the user refuses to not to use it up and well I just figure to wait it out, till I can upgrade the motherboard, and memory if I am going to upgrade the OS, because I am not happy with how much memory Norton uses.

A simple question about Home Premium...
Hi, I'm going to buy Windows 7 and am looking at the Home Premium. I see that some sites say it doesn't have the XP Mode that Professional has. If this is the full 'virtual XP' thing then that's not a problem, I don't think I would have much use for that, but what I DO need is the ability to...
