"Wireless Network Connection" doesn't havevalid IP conf
My internet connection has been on and off ever since I got my new Windows 7 laptop. I have had nothing but trouble and it is completely frustrating. At first I thought it was just my computer but then I took it to a public network and it stayed connected well. There are four computers in my house, not including mine, and they all connect well. They are fast and they can download things at a normal fast speed. My new computer, when it actually connects, is incredibly slow at downloading anything. It can't stay connected without switching to "identifying..." for minutes at a time and it is so frustrating. I constantly try the troubleshooting and it usually just tells me that there is something wrong with the router but obviously not if all the other computers work. Just recently I noticed it said "Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration.
What does that mean and how can I fix it?
Is that the reasoning behind all my problems?
Why can my computer connect to a public network but not my home network?
