Do this as already suggested. This person had the same problems when trying to connect to Win 7 machines and did this to solve it. Basically, uninstall the BT software and let Windows find the hub on it's own.

I had the same problem with my home hub2, after many hours on the phone to BT help line somwhere in India & trying all they could sugest I gave up, uninstalled all bt software & started again & let the software that came with the computer (Acer) search for the home hub which it found first time put in the code & it conected first time . Not impressed with BT software or their help line but the hub works fine now.

Can't find much info on that particuar hub device with the VOIP anywhere so I have no idea if it works or not with Win 7. Quite a few complaints about it not working correctly though.

the reason i dont think its the router is the fact that its picking up no signal at all, when there's numerous wireless networks down my street which are able to be picked up on the laptop in my house

Router

login to your router and check the wireless radio and make sure it has not been disabled also try a power cycle by unplugging the power and restoring power a few times in a row

You need to delete any stored wireless profiles on that computer then restart and try to reconnect
