You're saying that no matter what you try to download, and from what site you try to download it from.. It downloads at .38mbs/sec?

I'm basing this metric on speedtest.net. The wireless performance is so degraded that I don't try much, just plug in the ethernet cable and away I go.

To an earlier post, I called 2Wire this morning and discussed the issue. They said there was nothing amiss with the 2701HG-B and was it had the current o/s.

I got a new 2701HG 2Wire modem/gateway from the AT&T store Friday and hooked it up. Initially the download speed popped back up to the hardwire speed of ~ 1.35Mbs, but yesterday and today it is back to its old lethargic ~.35Mbs. Called an AT&T 2nd level tech (US based) this morning and concluded that it is probably NOT the modem/gateway problem but am at a loss to understand what else it might be, HP says I have the latest driver for the wireless adapter, an Atheros AR5009. Until I upgraded to Win764bitpro from Vista all was well. My XP netbook accessing the same network runs at ~ 1.35Mbs, wireless or wired.
