Why win7 access home and work network in the same time

Because one PC we used to change adapter to access at home network, then it could remember and access just one network: Home network. It means correct for our purpose.
But others Pc are not the same. Therefore we solve it by disable network adapter, then enable to force it access only Home network in every time we switch on PC.

This is not necessary a problem.

Can you go into Change Adapter Settings (link in on left pane window), and screenshot it. And do a ipconfig and show us the details.

This is supposidly a router problem, you can get rid of the other network by doing this.

Windows 7 Unidentified Network, Limited Access, No Internet Connection Problem Resolved

You can only join a Homegroup with Win 7 home basic but you can't create one with it so you will need to create the Homegroup on the Win 7 Ultimate machine and then join that Homegroup from the Win 7 Home machine.

When we did following above motheds, we found that we could not share any file from Ultimate to home basic; we were stopped by no permission to access destination PC files when we had fixed IP. Because if you meant to set defaut gateway, it also would mean that we had to fix IP, were we right?

So could you please tell us that how to solve continuously?
Because we used to solve no permission to access sharing files on Win7 ultimate by set the owner pattern in permission, so we think it's pretty hard and we have a lot of work to do it every time.

    thank you for your kindness

The sharing permissions are easy to set up for what ever files you want to share.

Ownership is set up with the security tab but you don't need to do that just to share files.

    um.....
so in the conclusion, all we need is just set IP and permission, are we right?

Sometimes we find that some PCs don't need to set any IP and can link together with shared file.
Then when we put PC which need to set IP and permission, link to another PC which can see and share without IP and permission setting. the result is the needed setting PC can go to another, but in contrast, the no needed setting PC cannot see and access any activities on the needed setting PC.

We just wonder what on the earth is that.
Moreover, we assume when we set network as public network, then there is no problem with no access or limited internet.

    so confused

At some point in time every machine needs to communicate with one another to be able to share files. With W7 and Homegroup, the connection/communication is somewhat automatic. If you have a mix OS environment, you obviously cannot use Homegroup. This is when manually setting IP comes into play.

Share permissions and securities is a different matter altogerther. Maybe less setup required if you are using W7 Homegroup (due to Windows evolution i suppose) but fundamentally file sharing requires some level of setup.
