    My "testmachine" is always a totally fresh installed machine with no antivirus or firewall or anything installed.. But that made no difference.

    However i have now solved the problem altogether.. by buying a brand new wireless router (Linksys WRT320N). Everything is atleast seemingly working.. Homegroup online, ping works, sharing works.. No software change on any of the computers..

    Not really sure what was causing the other wireless AP to make windows 7 wireless clients appear offline tho..

    There have been so many hardware problems with older routers I'm not too surprized. I'll mark as solved then. Glad you have it working again.
