    ping; Destination host unreachable


    hi all, i have my xbox and my router all on the same router, my subnet is the same and they are on the same network :), im trying to media share from my windows 7 to my xbox 360, when i ping my xbox ip i get this:

    C:\Users\Tippee>ping 192.168.11.8

    Pinging 192.168.11.8 with 32 bytes of data:
    Reply from 192.168.11.7: Destination host unreachable.
    Reply from 192.168.11.7: Destination host unreachable.

    i have turned on every file sharing option i can find ( i think ) i tryed this without my firewall on, same thing. please help me this is doing my head in!

    Is there a default gateway option that you can put in for the xbox?

    yea it is 192.168.11.1 (i think that is correct)

    Can you screenshot the "see full map" screen, in Network and Sharing centre?

    Shoudn't the xbox also be there somewhere (not certain)? Have you created some sort of nework for the xbox or is your xbox connected to the wireless network on it's own?

    it should be lol, my xbox is hardwired to the router, my laptop is wireless. i had this set up fine on my old pc, the problem started when i got onto windows 7 on a new lappy.

    Are u sure ur xbox is on the network, ur router might not have recognized it.

    yep it is, im online right now, when i am on the xbox and i do a xbox to pc test it cannot find the pc but..... i have just connected my laptop via Ethernet and it has picked it up so why not wireless, is there a setting i have overlooked somewhere? i have just pinged the xbox and i get request timed out even though the xbox seamed to find the pc ok. lol this is a mystery.

    I don't have xbox so my guess is that xbox has cloaked itself. Ping failure is epic!
