Nope
They both have to have remote desktop, and have to be Windows 7 Pro or above... Windows XP did the same thing (Have never really tried it on Vista). For example I could not use remote desktop to get into XP Home, While I was using remote desktop from XP Pro. But what I could do instead is Remote Assistance, From XP Pro to XP Home..But I am not sure if Windows 7 Starter has Remote Assistance.. ![]() Hope that Helps... |

Actually RDP client is available on any versions of W7. But no, you can't RPD to a W7 starter. Weird though, cos i would have thought, a higher spec OS should be able to RDP to a lower spec one, not the other way around. ESL so i could have interpret it wrongly.

Using Remote Desktop instead of Remote Assistance for remote helpdesk? Hi I know there are other products out there, like vnc, ultravnc, teamviewer etc etc, but really nothing beats the sheer speed of remote desktop, it's like sitting in front of the actual computer. I also know about Remote Assistance built into Windows 7. I would like to use remote desktop... |
