Very strange wireless problem on my 7

I understand there's another thread about wireless problem but it seem different.
I think it's more of a strange bug I found or corruption on a file somewhere. I am sure someone has similar experience and I hope this might help someone in the future.

I have a laptop (Acer AS1410 with Intel 5100 AGN) with 60GB OCZ Vertex with clean W7 32bit installation works great until a week ago. I have 2 wireless routers, both ASUS (RT-N13U and WL-520GU) and provider is Shaw (Cable) in Canada.

Some of the web page started to load slow or not loading at all. For example, hotmail.com will take 5 minutes but google took only 3 seconds. I suspected the wireless at first, update firmware and restore many times and can't solve the problem until I took both my laptop/wireless router to work. With same settings, same wireless router and same Internet provider, it works without problem. hotmail loads within seconds. The only difference is I have a linux dhcp/firewall between cable modem and wireless router. I have tried both wireless router in both locations and they did exactly the same thing.

Strange enough, I took home with the same setting again, it loads extremly slow. But, if I manage to open/download files from nvidia.com, I can still get up to 2,000kb/s download speed. It's only opening web page is taking time.

Hook up RJ-45 instead of wireles, problem goes away. Disable on board Intel 5100 AGN and and use a USB wireless N and the problem goes away.

I put my original hard drive (2.5" SATA Hitachi) with clean Windows 7 I have which I later upgraded to OCZ SSD and boot it to Windows 7 that has exactly the same drivers before I upgraded to SSD and it works fine, so there's no problem with my Intel 5100 AGN either.

Therefore, I eliminated down to Windows 7 setting problem on my SSD only when I am home. I tried the latest driver from Intel and it didn't help. I compared the driver files from my original hard drive (4, 2 under windows/system32/driver and 2 under windows/system32) and they all have the same date. Not to mention everything works at office but just not home. (note, I had another Windows 7 desktop with wireless N and there's no problem for hotmail to load within second)

I know one thing will probably fix it, re-install the Windows 7 again because same thing on my other hard drive works ok. But I'd rather find the reason before I wipe everything out.

    anyone?

One of those modems has to be your primary NAT and DNS... ...

how is your network hooked up and why do you have two routers?

Well, I originally has G and upgraded to N about a month ago hoping to improve the range and it did. I am not using both at the same time. I pull the G one to test out to make sure it's not the router problem.

Strange enough, the N I have actually have faster download speed even if the client is only using G. For the driver file from nVidia (89mb) has around 1mbps on my G and 1.2mbps+ on my N. But that's beside the point.

I tought about DNS, but the DNS setting on wireless router is pointing to the modem (assigned DNS). Laptop is pointing the DNS to the router.

For the NAT and firewall, I think I play around with the settings more. Thanks for the direction.

However, if I use the same wireless router and W7 recognized it as same netwwork (Home or Work), it should have the same rule. I don't understand why would it work fine at work, for the same settings, but not at home....

I mean it is possible to put the both routers on there depends on how you want to connect to the network..but One has to be the primry NAT and DNS and the other has to be connected as a bridge. Basically turns th NAT off and lets the first router control the second one.

I would suggest usig the Wirelss N as your primary one. Then umm turn off IPv6 o all the computers to see if that will fix anything. i am just sying this as a test...nothing is certain till it is attempted.

Another thing that will help out speeds is what is your security settigs set too on your wireless?

Well, I only have 1 wireless router running when I test it. I tested it on both wireless router by itself only.

Yes, I have also tried turning off my IPv6 and tweak settings around my Intel 5100 but no luck. I tried out 2 different drivers (Intel and Microsoft that comes with W7).

The strangest part is, if I turn off my Intel 5100 and use a USB wireless N instead, it works right away. It's almost like 5100's security setting is different from the add-on USB wirless N.

however, I have also tried restore the wireless route with factory settings with different SSID but it acts the same. None of other computer in the same network using wireless does this except this one.
