    Remote Desktop is killing me!!

After searching for hours i'm about to give up. My problem is that i cannot connect remotely with remote desktop to any of my windows 7 machines. I've got 1 win 7 pro 32 bits and 1 win 7 pro 64 bits.

To make a long story short. I need to remote in from an unblocked port like 80 or 53. I changed the listen port, forward the port in my router, activated the remote connection on both computer. Tried to connect....hold my breath....nothing.

I deactivated the firewall....still no go. It was working fine on my Windows 7 pro 64 bits machine before reinstalling it. So i know my router is configured ok becose it has worked previously on 7 and XP.

If anyone as any suggestion i'm open to hear it. Before you ask, yes i need to change the port for RDP since i need to keep all other ports closed. And no i won't use VNC/TightVNC or any other app since RDP is the fastest of them all and runs natively

So should i consider moving back to Windows NT terminal server edition?

Why is it that you need to connect from a port like 80 or 53? Are you trying to connect from work or another network where perhaps outbound 3389 is blocked??

I'm remoting from work, but i don't want to open port 3389 in the firewall. Anyway this is not the issue since i've been doing this for a year and never had this problem. So i guess it is something I did wrong....twice :)

The only thing i've change when i think about it is i've installed Avira Antivir instead of avast.....call it a moment of unconciousness :)

Configure Avira to "allow" ... it may need the computer name and/or the IP address

I'll have to look more deeply in Avira's setting. It is my first time using it but i don't recall seeing anything about a firewall in the free edition.
