That is what I did with my system...
Cable Modem >>> Vonage Adapter (DMZ to Router) >>> Router
Incoming IP >>>Vonage Has the IP from Cable Modem >> Vonage Has LAN ID: 192.168.15.1 >> DMZ 192.168.15.2 to Router >> Gave static IP to WAN on Router of 192.168.15.2 >> Router provides the 192.168 to my network.
I included pictures of my dsl modem, maybe it will clear up the situation a little. You are saying that i should take out the lan cable connecting my computer and dsl modem out of the modem and connect it to the wireless router? I already have a lan cable going from my dsl modem to wireless router internet port.theres only one lan slot on my dsl modem.
Exactly! the dsl modem does use ppoe, i can connect to internet if i just plug my lan cable straight from dsl modem to computer, just have to enter the ppoe usern and psswrd.
So you use additional access point(vonage adapter)? it shouldnt be that hard , i think it's the wireless router that messes up in transferring the ppoe pswd and username to my dsl modem, like i mentioned in the first post when i save ppoe psswd and username on my wireless router's setup page, there's 5 extra symbols showing up in ppoe psswd tab after the page refreshes.
What can you tell us about the router's "wireless" tab setting? you have created a wireless network haven't you, and broadcasted it?
Thanks to everybody for inputs, couple days ago I reset the wirelless router and did a new setup, the problem was the first time i setup the wireless router , at the end of the setup the software couldnt detect the connection type, and even then the setup was finished and i went to my routers setup page and changed the connection type from dhcp to ppoe, the router didnt save the pppoe pswrd correctly. This time though at the end of the router setup it let me choose the connection type and enter ppoe pswrd and username, so the wireless is working fine now
