Sounds nasty, and weird given the fact that the other laptop can use tethering off it and this one can't. Take a shot of the bluescreen error (perhaps with a phone), and post the image here.

I too had a blue screen the other day as i was trialing adhoc. But it seems to be a one off.
You can connect to wifi, meaning your w7 can connect to your home wireless network?

Adhoc wireless network uses your wireless adapter so you cannot turn on adhoc and home wifi connection at once.

If you want to connect your G1 to your W7 adhoc wireless to use the internet, your internet connection needs to be from a wired connection. Having both active, you can bridge the connections for internet.

When your computer goes into a blue screen like that, it sounds like a driver not compatible. Windows does that so it won't do anymore harm to the devices. Either find another driver for it or find an alternative way.

I tether with my iphone via USB too. I'm not sure how the adhoc works off your G1, as i don't have one. Are you saying the G1 can tether with USB to one machine as well as wirelessly tether other wireless machines?

I know with a windows mobile you could. I could hack it to do that but with a G1, i am not sure either how to do it.

I have a HTC Touch pro with Windows mObile 6.1 and i can do some amazing things with that phone but people still seam to get the iphone... it boggles me *lol* but anyways...

i would have to get my hands on that phone before i can configure how to do it.

not judging but you can't hack the iphone like you can the windows... you just don tknow what your missing.

lol, can u donate some money so i can get the awesome HTC? I can't afford both.

Drivers are a highly cause of BSOD, next would be hardware compatibility.
