Can't access Win 7 shared folders from WinXP

    Hey people,
I'm new here and I need help really bad...
    I have 2 pc's - 1 dekstop (win 7) and 1 loptop (win xp).
My printer is connected to the dekstop pc, I have shared it successfuly and I can print from my laptop.
But when I share hard drive or seperate folders on my dekstop (that runs win7) I simply can't access them from loptop (win xp). I get simple ACCESS DENIED message.
I can access from win7 to xp but not overwise.

PLEEAAASE HELP! I'VE TRIED ALMOST ALL TOTORIALS ON WEB!

    Much thanks..

either create an account for the user to gain access through on the 7 machine or use the 'everyone' group (not recommended) with 'modify'.

Hey, thanks for fast reply. But thing with EVERYONE does not work...I even checked read, modify & full control options it still does not work. For now I've turned off password option for sharing, should I turn it on to create user?

Try this one, it sounds like a permissions problem. It sometimes helps to run the network setup wizard on the XP machine.

If the 'everyone' group isn't allowing access to the share, it's another setting. The above tutorial will show you the options.

go back into control panel/users and unlock the account.
