IE8 slow? Maybe this tweak will help

actxprxy.dll is one of the core libraries for Internet Explorer (along with a few others such as Urlmon.dll and Mshtml.dll). If it’s not properly registered, IE won’t work at all. And re-registering it should never be necessary except in extreme circumstances.

Heres how to register it:

1. Open cmd prompt (winkey+r then type cmd and run it),
2. enter regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
3. reboot

It would be interesting to see if this tweak speeds things up for you.

it gave me an error message when I entered regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

Go to Start/All Programs/Accessories, right-click Command Prompt and "Run as Administrator".

Swarfega, it seems to have worked here. Not a huge speedup but some...I think!!

Now to test it in Vista and XP.

Using non-RAID on purpose as I find RAID to be too temperamental.
Now set to AHCI
Believe it or not. I have a little list if hints and tips, which slowly gets added too. I have that , from 2004, as a tweak for IE5 !!

Perhaps this page will interest anyone who wants to try it. This guy usually gets it right.
