    phpBB + MySQL + IIS7??

I am trying to install phpBB for testing purposes on my IIS "server". I have MySQL installed, and have created a db with the following info:
name: wiki (don't ask me why)
    user: root
    password: ******

At the db config, I enter:
    Type: MySQL with MySQLi Extension
DSN: 10.0.0.227 or localhost (neither work)
    Server port: (default)
    Name: wiki
    Username: root
    password: ******
    Prefix: phpbb_

I have tried this with MediaWiki, and it cannot find the server. I set up MySQL 5.1 with default settings, set the root password, created a db with the command line. Also, I cannot reach my server with localhost. I always need to type 10.0.0.227. Is this a problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there

perhaps not what you are looking for but consider an alternative -- use an APACHE server with MySQL and PHP. It's a lot less cumbersome than IIS and plenty of examples on the web of setting it all up.
    Usually known as WAMP.

Just a suggestion - but I found IIS problematic -- Apache runs straight out of the box - and makes a great web server.

Can you give more details on how to uninstall IIS? If need be?

    Hi there.

I think it's in the Windows Features
I never installed it in the first place so I didn't have to uninstall it.

Control Panel ==>progrtams and features==>turn windows features on or off

    Pic below
