Windows 7: Network Sharing with XP, Vista and 7?

Okay, now they are both asking me to "select the printer you would like to install and click next" but it is not tuning up. It says: "if your printer is not shown, make sure your printer is on" - it is - ", connected" - it's not on these machines -"and click refresh". Should I physically hook the printer up to the portables now?

Or, should I choose "Manual Add" which is: "If you want to setup printer sharing with peer-to-peer"...

just from the network icon on your desktop see if you can connect to the XP machine and reveal the shared printer and try to connect

No, neither can connect.

The Installer tacked onto the printer drivers on both machines didn't finish and wants me to select either of the two options given to do it, but I don't know if I need to physically hook the printer up to them in order to do this, or choose the manual add for it to work with the network.

7 still returns 0x0000000d - and Vista still returns "Windows cannot connect to the printer. the local print spooler service is not running. please restart the spooler or restart the machine" - despite driver applications.

I choose "Manual Add" and it came up with "The printer is connected to another computer and shared with other computers on the network. (Peer-to-Peer client)... trying that one now.

It is asking me for the "Remote Computer's Name" and the "Shared Printer's" Name...

Waiting for it to do something...

Now \\MASTER\Dell_922 is showing up in the "Select the printer you would like to install and click next" field... trying that now.

Vista install failed, 7 install succeeded and neither can communicate.

So, do I have to hack the registry on both of them to make the spooler work?
