    Can't Get Homegroup To Work


    I have two computers running Windows 7 Home Premium: a Dell laptop with a 64 bit operating system and a Gateway desktop with a 32 bit operating system. The desktop is hardwired to the Internet and the laptop connects via a wireless link through the same modem.

    I have set up a Homegroup. I can see the network from either computer, in Homegroup, and also on the McAfee "Manage Network" page. The same Homegroup password pops up on each computer.

    I can see files in the laptop from the desktop, but when I try to launch Homegroup from the laptop I am advised, "No other Homegroup computers are currently available."

    Would anyone have any idea what the problem, might be?

Where or how am I supposed to access this HomeGroup in Win7HP? I don't see a Home Group icon anywhere. It's not like XP with the Network Neighborhood where I can see shared files. Thanks.

I set it up on my desktop no problem. When I go to my laptop I can never get to the Join screen only the create a new homegroup. I have windows 7 on both computers. Any help is appreciated!
I have seen in the forums at least twice that IPV6 is required for Homegroups. As part of my elimination of anything I didn't need when Homegroups didn't work for me, I disabled IPV6 on both systems. I subsequently discovered that when I removed Norton 360, everything worked. I never went back...
