    Pc Locks Up

I'm running a fairly fresh install of win7 (installed 2 or so months ago) which lately has been randomly locking-up/freezing. I don't even get a response from ctrl+alt+del, so I'm forced to do a hard reboot.

Anyway I looked in events viewer and wondered if these instances had any bearing:

The browser service was unable to retrieve a list of servers from the browser master \\BONSAI on the network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{############################}.

    Browser master: \\BONSAI
    Network: \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{################################}

This event may be caused by a temporary loss of network connectivity. If this message appears again, verify that the server is still connected to the network. The return code is in the Data text box.
    ---------------------------------------------

Basically this "BONSAI" is just another user on the network.....why is this user the "master browser"!?

The resulting error from this warning is as follows:

The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{###########################}. The backup browser is stopping.
    ---------------------------------------------

Of course the freezes could have nothing to do with this but it seems odd and my pc is well looked after.

    Hello,

When do these freezes occur? Try opening an elevated command prompt and running sfc /scannow.

If that does not work, you may need to do a Repair Install.

    Good luck!

Just at random, I haven't noticed any relations. I ran the scan and it completed successfully, saying that all was well:

    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

    C:\Windows\system32>

    What does this mean?:

The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer BONSAI that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{##################################}. The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced.

I wonder If this error message could have anything to do with things:

"The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk8\DR11".

I get this message whenever I plug-in USB storage, iPod, USB flash-disk etc. the disk number is different for each device, and no, its neither of my hard disks, their disk0 and disk1.

P.S. Either Plugged directly into the motherboard or though front panel USB hub, makes no difference.
