Windows 7: Network Adapter Controllers

Network Adapter Controllers

I use Comcast for my broadband internet.

Trying to reconcile the difference in apparent usage between what Comcast's Network Monitor shows, and a "Bandwidth Monitor" program from Rokario Systems.

The Rokario program has an auto detect where it says that I am using
Realtek PcIe GBE Family Controller-QoS Packet Scheduler.

If I go to Device Manager, I see that besides the Realtek one, I also apparently have two others:
- Atheros 802.11 a/b/g/n Dualband Wireless Network Module
- Microsoft Visrtual WiFi Miniport Adapter

Could the difference in usage possibly be that the Rokario program has latched on to the wrogn network adapter ? It shows almosat no usage, while Comcast shows Very large usage.

Before I b lame my son and all of his music, video, and probably other downloads and uploads, would like to understand what might be happening to account for the difference.

How can I determine which of the three that my PC is actually utilizing ?

Doesn't really say in Device Manager, other than they all are working correctly.

Windows 10 Pro (x64)

Open Network and Sharing Center under active networks there should be blue text besides "Connections" click that. Then "Properties" in the window that appears. That will give you the name of the device of your active network connection.

From OP: Your Reply To My Post

Thanks for help; appreciate it.

I went to where you suggested, and see two icons, one of which is probably the active one, I think.

I have one icon that says:
Local Area Connection
Linksys (my Router, I guess)
Realtek PCIe GPE Family Controller

and for the other icon, it says:
Broadband Connection
IT HAS A CHECK MARK next to it in a green circle
In light grey it also says Disconnected (so why the check mark ?)
WAN Miniport PPOE

The check mark is confusing me.
Which is the one that is actually being used ? Both, somehow ?

Which should I have the Rokario Bandwidth Monitor latch on to ?

Again, much thanks,
