Homegroup - why is this not symmetrical?

I was experimenting with Windows 7's Homegroup feature. My main computer declared that it had created a homegroup and showed a password. I typed that pwd into my second computer and it said, it had now joined the homegroup.

Odd enough, I now see and can access the second computer from the first one (so obviously it indeed joined the first computer's home group), but for some strange reason I don't see the first computer from the second one. When I click on homegroup on computer 2 it tells me "No other homegroup computers are currently visible", even though it *has* joined the group and is visible from the other computer!

How can that be? Why is this homegroup not behaving "symmetrically" (i.e. such, that if A sees computer B, then B also sees A?)

On your second computer are you able to browse folders/files from your first computer? i.e. pictures, musics, videos etc?

No, I don't, since it doesn't even "see" the first computer (at least it doesn't show it under HomeGroup). As I wrote: when I click HomeGroup I only get that "No other homegroup computers are currently visible" message.

Hi, see if this helps. I would have suggested Network Discovery to be turned on, but sure you have done that?

    Hello mmo,

Try this Homegroup walkthrough which covers most of the problems you might run into.
Ultimate Troubleshooting Guide for Windows 7 HomeGroup Connection Issues

If checking all those things doesn't help you should try the procedure outlined in the post below which involves delating a certain problem file.
