Ad-hoc networking is a networking means that allow wireless devices to join the network for most things sharing.

Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center.
Click Setup a new connection or network.

Are you using a router or creating an ad-hoc wireless network for peer-to-peer networking?

Either way, create a SSID with security type eg WPA2 - Personal, and Encryption AES. Anyone trying to access this SSID will need to supply the security key you have setup your SSID with.

    That's good

But that thread is how to make an ad hoc network and this is how to secure an ad-hoc network.

So it will be better if we keep this separate.

You secure the network by selecting the security type and encryption type during the creation of the ad-hoc network.
