If so, this will not work, as there is only one wireless adapter to share with either normal wifi or ad-hoc wifi. You cannot use both at the same time.
From what I can tell he wants the TouchPro to be the internet access with it's WiFi providing network connectivity for the laptop and printer.

Although you can use multiple devices on a a single Adhoc network the problem he has is the Touch Pro may not support it. That's the killer.

If the Touch Pro can support internet access by tethering via a USB connection to the laptop, he may need to do that instead. That way the Laptop WiFi remains intact to support his printer. Provided his carrier allows tethering though. Not all do.

A quick check on google, found TouchPro to have tethering capabilty. If he is sharing/tethering off the TouchPro, any chance of using his laptop's wifi (for normal wifi or ad-hoc) would mean he has to USB the touch as you said.

I don't know if the Touchpro can be used as a ad-hoc host as in a laptop can. I would think the ad-hoc would have to be setup on the laptop.

AdHoc doesn't have a "host". It's all peer to peer as far as wireless connectivity goes.

I looked at the manual for the Touch Pro and saw that it only shares the internet connection with USB or Bluetooth so using the WiFi radio isn't supported. He'll have to tether it.

As for AdHoc, the Touch Pro uses Windows Mobile and the WiFi setup screens seem to indicate it will support AdHoc but he can't use it for sharing.

What I meant with host was if he creates the adhoc on Touch for other device to join this connect, the Touch is deemed a host (hosting). His only option now is to use the laptop as the adhoc host for the printer to join the network, and if he want to share internet with say another computer, the he might need to Bridge the USB connection with this adhoc (on the laptop).

I had a feeling that's what you meant.
