IS this a bad internet connection?

We have an internet connection speed of 1mbps. Yet I know for sure that we are not getting this speed. I was just testing and I decided to have a go at doing a pingtest. I have no idea what this is, or what it meant, but from about 5 trials I got and F.

    Heres the results:
    is my ISP bad??

The best I managed to get was a B after about 15 tests. We are thinking of switching from our ISP to another anyway. But if you think these results are bad then we definitely will

This says you are getting approximately the one meg you should be. Your ping is within reason so, if the results vary it may be by either the site you go to or the line conditions. If you want faster you are going to have to pay for it, sorry.

You're connection speed is fine but the ping times are crummy. That's what's causing the low "grade". Notice the difference in where the tests are done. The upload/download tests are to a server only 50 miles away but the server used for the pings is over 4,000 miles away. That would explain the high ping times.

I'm not sure why the ping test chose a server so far away. Doesn't make sense.

Any way to test to a closer server for ping times? That would give you a better idea of how well your ISP's network performs.

I would consider switching. I used to be with AOL and I suffered from poor download speeds, often below 50kb/sec when testing. Since moving to O2, my speeds have been consistantly ~4mb/sec. Here are my latest test results.
